2.1 Information You Provide

MoneyTracker allows you to enter the following data for personal finance management:

  • 💳 Debt records — amounts, person names, and settlement status
  • 🔄 Subscription details — subscription names, costs, and renewal dates

⚠️ Important: All of this data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted local database. We do not have access to your financial information, and it is never transmitted to our servers.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Google AdMob (Advertising)

MoneyTracker displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Google may collect certain information automatically to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. This may include:

  • Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID)
  • IP address
  • General device information (model, OS version, screen size)
  • App usage and interaction data related to ads

This data is collected and processed by Google LLC under their own privacy policy. We do not have access to or control over the specific data Google collects. For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy and Google AdMob policies.

3. App Permissions & Their Purpose

MoneyTracker requests the following device permissions. Each permission is used solely for the purpose described below:

📷 CAMERA Used to capture receipt photos and attach them to transactions for record-keeping. Camera access is optional — the app works fully without it. Photos are stored locally on your device.
🔐 USE_BIOMETRIC Used for app lock functionality. Allows you to secure the app with your fingerprint or face recognition. Biometric data is processed by the Android system — the app never stores or accesses your biometric data directly.
🌐 INTERNET Required for displaying advertisements (Google AdMob) and fetching currency exchange rates. Your personal financial data is never transmitted over the internet.
📶 ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Used to check whether an internet connection is available before attempting to load ads or fetch exchange rates. This helps provide a seamless offline experience.
🔔 POST_NOTIFICATIONS Used to send you bill payment reminders, budget alerts, and daily expense tracking reminders. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings.
📳 VIBRATE Used to provide haptic feedback for notifications (bill reminders, budget alerts). Enhances notification awareness.
🔄 RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED Allows the app to reschedule your bill reminders and budget alerts after your device restarts. Without this permission, scheduled reminders would be lost after a reboot.
🖼️ READ_MEDIA_IMAGES Used on Android 13+ to allow you to select existing photos from your gallery to attach as receipts to transactions. Access is limited to images you explicitly select.
📁 READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
(Android 12 and below only)		 Used on older Android versions (API 32 and below) to allow you to select receipt images from your device storage. Replaced by READ_MEDIA_IMAGES on Android 13+.
💾 WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
(Android 9 and below only)		 Used on older Android versions (API 28 and below) to save exported PDF/CSV reports to your device storage. Not required on modern Android versions.

✅ No location permission is requested. While the app allows you to optionally add location names to transactions, this is done through manual text entry — we do not access your GPS or device location.

4. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • ✅ To provide expense tracking, budgeting, and financial management features
  • ✅ To generate financial reports and charts within the app
  • ✅ To send you bill reminders and budget notifications (if enabled)
  • ✅ To export your data to PDF or CSV files at your request
  • ✅ To secure the app via biometric authentication (if enabled)
  • ✅ To display advertisements through Google AdMob

We do not use your data for:

  • ❌ Selling or sharing with third parties
  • ❌ Profiling or behavioral tracking
  • ❌ Marketing or promotional purposes
  • ❌ Any purpose other than what is described in this policy

5. Data Storage & Security

  • 🔒 All financial data is stored locally on your device in a secure database (Room/SQLite).
  • 🔐 The app offers optional biometric lock (fingerprint or face recognition) to prevent unauthorized access.
  • ☁️ We do not operate any cloud servers or backend services. Your data is never uploaded to the internet.
  • 🗑️ If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted from your device.

MoneyTracker uses the following third-party services:

8. Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data:

  • ✏️ Access & Edit: You can view and modify all your financial data within the app at any time.
  • 📤 Export: You can export all your data to PDF or CSV format for your own records.
  • 🗑️ Delete: You can delete individual transactions, accounts, budgets, or goals at any time. Uninstalling the app will permanently remove all data.
  • 🔕 Notifications: You can disable all notifications through your device's Settings → Apps → MoneyTracker → Notifications.
  • 📷 Camera Access: You can revoke camera permission at any time through your device settings without affecting core app functionality.
  • 🚫 Ad Personalization: You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

9. Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • Your data is retained for as long as the app is installed on your device.
  • Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all stored data.
  • We do not retain any copies of your data on our servers because we do not have servers that store user data.

10. International Users

MoneyTracker is available globally and supports 10 languages. Since your data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to any server, there are no cross-border data transfers of your personal financial information. The only international data processing occurs through Google AdMob, which is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
