Privacy Policy for Screen Mirroring: Cast to TV

Last Updated: May 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Screen Mirroring: Cast to TV ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

1. Information Collection and Use

Our App is designed to provide high-performance screen mirroring and media casting services. To function correctly, the App requires certain permissions and access to your device. We prioritize your privacy and aim to collect the minimum amount of data necessary.

A. Media Access (Privacy First)

We use the Android Photo Picker and system file selectors for media casting.

No Broad Access: Our App does not require broad access to your entire photo gallery or file system.

User Selection: We only access the specific photos, videos, or audio files that you explicitly select for casting.

No Storage: We do not upload, store, or share your personal media files to any external servers.

B. Device Permissions

To provide its core functionality, the App requests the following permissions:

Screen Capture (MediaProjection): Used to capture your screen's contents for mirroring to a TV or web browser. This process happens locally on your device.

Audio Recording: Used to capture device audio during mirroring so you can hear your content on the receiving device.

Location & Nearby Devices: Required by the Android system to scan for and connect to TVs and other display devices on your local WiFi network. We do not use this to track your physical location.

WiFi & Network State: Used to establish a connection between your phone and your TV/casting device.

Foreground Service: Allows the App to maintain a stable mirroring connection even if you switch to another app or turn off your screen.

Notifications: Used to provide you with easy-to-access controls (Stop/Pause) while mirroring is active.

2. Advertising (AdMob)

We use Google AdMob to show advertisements in the App to keep our services free.

Advertising ID: We use the Google Advertising ID (AD_ID) to provide personalized and relevant ads.

Third-Party Data: Google may use information about your use of this and other apps to provide tailored advertisements. You can manage your ad preferences in your device's Google Settings.

3. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect the integrity of your mirroring sessions. Mirroring data is transmitted directly over your local network and is not stored by us.

4. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party libraries (such as Hilt for dependency injection and Glide for image caching) that may collect information used to identify you according to their own privacy policies.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

6. Policy Updates

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
